PSNS Update 4 July, 1998.
Don "Snuffy" Smith, former crew member of the Sculpin (SSN 590) went on the Kitsap Harbor tour at Bremerton Washington in hopes of seeing his old boat before she is scrapped. Don is one of the few lucky ones, his boat has not been recycled, yet. Thanks to Don for sharing these photographs with us.

OK, if all went ok, you should have 10 pictures on 10 e-mail attachments. now I'll try and give a small bit of information on them. The tour boat starts from the east end of the shipyard. Traveling west the Long Beach is reference point and is I think about in the middle of the many piers. I have photo of the CV 64 Constellation in Drydock 6 and it is west of the Long Beach hull. I also have pictures of CV 41 Midway and CV 61 Ranger and 1X518, the old AS 19 Proteus. I will have to work more on the pictures and positions. # 3 is first shot heading west # 4 is a crop of # 3 for closer view # 5 the big rusty bow is of 586 Triton # 2 Triton bow on left with stern of Long Beach CGN 9 above it # 1 is a crop shot of picture of # 2, closer view of 590 sail # 6 portside of Long Beach and nest of boats # 7 crop shot of # 6 to show 590 sail on far left side # 8 Triton and rest of boats # 9 Hull on far right is starboard side of Long Beach hull shows another group of boats, I could not see numbers even with 20 power binoculars
